Keith St. Clair

Public Information Officer

Mr. St. Clair works with reporters on all media inquiries into DFS operations and personnel, as well as writes news releases, coordinates media events, posts information to the agency’s website and Facebook page, and reviews internal/external communications. Before coming to DFS, he spent 25 years as a journalist, most recently as City Editor at The Washington Examiner, where he directed coverage of news in the District as well as crime regionwide. He was a Desk Supervisor with the Associated Press in Los Angeles, where he covered news and directed coverage of news for print, television, radio and online platforms in several Western states as well as coordinated with editors at the organization’s world headquarters in New York. Mr. St. Clair also was Night City Editor at the St. Petersburg Times (now Tampa Bay Times), where he directed coverage of all the news in Pasco County, Fla. Over his career, reporters under his supervision have been nominated for a Pulitzer Prize and won national awards including the Livingston Award for Young Journalists, the Education Writers Association Grand Prize for Distinguished Education Reporting, and the Society of Professional Journalists Award for Deadline Reporting. Mr. St. Clair also has won awards for his writing and editing. He has a Bachelor of Science in Journalism from the University of Maryland and completed the coursework for a Master of Arts in Communications at California State University, Fullerton.
