Abdel Maliky is the DFS Senior Deputy Director, overseeing the Training Team, Quality Team, Human Resources Team, the Cyber Section and the Forensic Intelligence Unit.
Mr. Maliky has 25 years of experience with expertise in quality management, process improvement, risk management, due diligence and actuarial projections and forecasting. His previous experiences prior to coming to DFS includes being Chief Operating Officer of a nonprofit organization and an actuarial consultant for Fidelity Investments where he advised CFOs, CIOs and HROs on financial and operational issues.
He has a Bachelor’s Degree in Mathematics, MBA and MS in Actuarial Sciences and has been a been a financial, operation and quality auditor familiar with ISO 9002,17025 and 15189 standards.
He was also previously appointed as Commissioner on African Affairs by Mayor Bowser where he served as Vice Chair of the Commission. While at DFS, Mr. Maliky was a Quality Specialist for Public Health Laboratory prior to becoming the first manager of the newly formed Forensic Intelligence Unit. Since June of 2019 he also took on the roles of Acting Quality Manager and Acting Training Manager.
