DFS Science Advisory Board

The new DFS Science Advisory Board members are:
 
Dr. Roger Kahn
  • Dr. Roger Kahn is the former Forensic Director for the Harris County, Texas, Institute of Forensic Sciences.
Ms. Claudine Pereira
  • Ms. Claudine Pereira is currently the Crime Lab Director for the Broward Sherrif’s Office in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. Ms. Pereira is a  20+ year BSO veteran who leads an internationally accredited crime lab that processes approximately 25,000 cases each year. Ms. Claudine Carter Pereira is the first female Crime Lab director at BSO and the first black Crime Lab director in Florida.
Ms. Nicole Roehm
  • Ms. Nicole Roehm is currently the Administrator of the Division of Forensic Sciences for the Wisconsin Department of Justice and serves as a technical assessor for ANAB, a member of the American Society of Crime Laboratory Directors (ASCLD), and a member of the Midwestern Association of Forensic Scientists (MAFS). 
Dr. Jeri Ropero-Miller
  • Dr. Jeri Ropero-Miller is the senior director of RTI International for forensics and  from 2021-2022, president of the American Academy of Forensic Sciences (AAFS).  Dr. Ropero-Miller is a board certified Forensic Toxicologist with Diplomate status on the American Board of Forensic Toxicology (F-ABFT) and has worked with a variety of clients, including the National Institute of Justice (NIJ), Bureau of Justice Statistics (BJS), Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), and the Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA). 
Ms. Laura Sudkamp
  • Ms. Laura Sudkamp was the Kentucky State Police Forensic Laboratory Director for 35 years.
