Mayor Vincent C. Gray has highlighted the growing number of national organizations that have given honors and top rankings to the District.
The Department of Forensic Sciences and the city's Consolidated Forensics Laboratory figured into the Mayor's remarks, which came Sunday morning on his weekly radio show on 99.1-FM WNEW.
The US Green Building Council named DC the nation's top city for LEED-certified buildings. That number includes the CFL, which in May received the highest LEED ranking of platinum for its environmentally friendly design and construction. The building serves as headquarters for DFS and Office of the Chief Medical Examiner.
Mayor Gray also noted that Careebuilder.com says the District is the best city in the country for recent college graduates–and DFS is hiring. Look for DFS postings at dchr.dc.gov and relevant professional association websites (AAFS, IAI, ASCLD and others).
