Dr. Luke Short, of our Biomonitoring and Analytical Chemistry Unit (BACU) coauthors a feature article series. It is titled Nanotechnology in the Water Industry, Part 1: Occurrence and Risks and Nanotechnology in the Water Industry, Part 2: Toxicology and Analysis. This article is published in the Journal of the American Water Works Association.

The work encompasses a national collaboration with water testing labs and the Association of Public Health Laboratories (APHL) to survey the state-of-the-art for water testing for the presence of the emerging pollutant of nanomaterials. The BACU provided expertise on instrumental analysis and methods for testing water for the presence of nanomaterials.
